I farm by choice.
But all the choices I’ve made, big and small, have landed me right here – growing food for you.
It started as a little girl helping my Dad in our big home garden…my love of plants and animals grew and grew.
Sinking my hands into the soil, and nurturing plants and people, that’s my passion.
Today, I serve my family and this community by growing food.
But not just any food; this food.
And growing this food, this nutrient-dense, lovingly grown, hand-harvested organic produce, feeds my soul.
Nope, it’s not easy; but when you love & believe in something it’s easy to commit to.
Does anyone have kids, run a business, or get a college degree because they want the easy way????
The starting path.
I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Integrated Biology.
I was preMed and realized that wasn’t my path.
After a little domestic & international travel I found my love of teaching at Jefferson High School in South Central Los Angeles.
Then I found my love of motherhood.
Growing food and feeding my body well always called to me.
With motherhood came a whole new passion for feeding my children the best food available…and I knew how to get it.
GROW IT!
The Road Less Traveled.
This brings me to my choices today.
Being a part of a community has always been important to me.
I choose to sell direct to you, the consumer.
I choose to be a CSA farmer because I love serving you, the member, the foodie, the locavore, the busy mom, the home chef and hard-working professional.
I love to chat about recipe ideas or favorite ways to serve kohlrabi or garlic scapes when you come to pick up your CSA share or shop at the market.
I love helping you with your home gardens and seeing vibrant pictures of your latest meal creation on the Farm-ily FB page.
I LOVE getting to know you, your kids, your dogs, your family, your way.
And most of all I love growing & sharing this nutrient-dense soul-nourishing food with YOU.
So I will always stand by the motto ‘Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food’
I want you to know —Your Farmer wants to Know You too.
So for me, CSA is where it’s at!
We can get up close and personal and keep that connection through growing seasons and years.
